What's next?

Now that the Red Gable is done, I'm itching to start a new project. Will it be Orangina in Black? perhaps another Green Gable? or maybe a tank for Pumpkin Girl?

Whoa, Bessie! What about those WIPs? You know the ones on your sidebar - Little Man's Socks, Ribby Cardi and the unfinished Sweet Heart (aka Imp) sweater for Pumpkin Girl.

I'm so over Sweet Heart Imp. I mean ... I'm really ready to rip everything out and reclaim the yarn for something else. So I start unravelling the neckline and the yoke. Hold on, maybe I can still salvage this beast. I'm not ready to admit defeat. I just have this as a standby project while I can decide what's next.

Red Gable

I love this pattern. I'll probably make one for Pumpkin Girl and another one for me. I started with a small then switched to a medium during the raglan length. It's such a snug fit. When I make it again, I'll make it less body hugging.

Cotton Fleece is nice and easy on the hands - I'll definitely use this yarn again.

Green Gable
Pattern: Zephyr Style
Yarn: Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece in Candy Apple
Needles: Addi Circular in US #6
(04/14/06 - 04/24/06)

Modifications: I lengthened the body and sleeves; and increased at the hips.

One track mind

I'm loving my Green Red Gable sweater. I'm thinking of adding some waist shaping to it for my wide hips. This is the only project I'm working on. Sometimes I get tired of it and I want to start something new. I must resist the urge. I still need to start the second sock for Little Man. Let's see how long I can stay on track with this project.

You'll notice that some projects disappeared from the WIPs list. Ribby Cardi is on hold. Sweet Heart (aka Imp) is going to be ripped. Pumpkin Girl would rather have a tank or a cardi. All that Shine will be recycled into something she will wear.

Happy Easter!!!

Those Easter baskets were a hit! They were taken out for a test drive on Saturday for our HOA's Egg Hunt. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring our camera. Instead, here is a picture of the eggs the kids colored.

On Sunday morning after mass, we hid 70+ eggs inside the house (limiting it to 2 adjoining rooms). They had a blast looking for the eggs. Last year, I put coins in the green eggs. It just so happened that Little Man ended up finding the majority of the green eggs. So this year, Pumpkin Girl kept asking what color were the money eggs. To make it fun, we put money in all the different colors. Can you tell from Pumpkin Girl's overflowing basket that she just zoomed through the rooms and picked as many as she could.

Here's a better picture of the baskets:

What to do?

I'm loving the Green Gable in Red. However, I noticed an error on the left sleeve. Can you see it? I guess I wouldn't really mind it if it were on the back. I'm debating whether to rip and start over. By the way, Carrie is starting a Green Gable KAL.

Update: I ripped the entire sweater and rewound into balls on Friday (4/14). Somehow, I found it so liberating. I re-started again that evening and as of Sunday evening I'm 5" into the body. I'm definitely happier with it now.

Another one bites the dust

The second one went by even faster. I love seeing the basketweave pattern coming to life. If I didn't dose off at 7:30 last night, I could've done the I-cords. Oh well. C'est la vie!

One down, one to go

Pink Easter Basket is done!

The I-cord handles were knitted last night. I just need to weave in a few ends before it gets thrown it the wash. This is the scary part.

Something Red

I've been distracted lately. I should've been done with the Pink Easter basket but I haven't touched it since. I really need to start on the Blue Easter basket because the deadline is coming up soon. Did I do any of these? NO!

On Saturday, I finished up the neckline for Pumpkin Girl's Sweet Heart sweater while she was in Jazz class. I even wove in the ends for the neck. All I had left to do was duplicate stitch the heart on to the front piece. When we got home, I had her try it on. Neck is too tight, we could barely squeeze her head in. I didn't have the courage to rip back a few rows and try again. Instead I cast-on for another project - Green Gable (in Candy Apple Red). I'm so glad I tried it on when it said so. I needed to add a few more rows otherwise my arms would fit like sausages.

I just finished the first skein and this is what I have so far.

I really need to get back to the Easter Basket projects before I start my 2nd skein for Green Gable.
