My First Sweater

Presenting the Hourglass Sweater in all its glory. The pattern was so simple and easy to follow I will definitely make another one. The only modification was I followed the NBaT instructions for knitting the sleeves/waist hems (no sewing there!).

This project has a lot of firsts for me. I learned a lot! Let's mention a few:
1. Knitting sleeves and attaching them.
2. Grafting.
3. Sewing down the live stitches at the neckline. That was loads of fun!

See Bear give his stamp of approval.

Wowo --- I came over to see your Sitcom after you mentioned you were done on Knit Red... but I am glad to see what a great sweater this one is too. I have the book, and have been eyeing this as a pretty quick sweater to make as a Christmas gift for my 22-year old daughter; although, I am just finishing her "spring" sweater in time to wear under a jacket during winter. Great color, and I love how the dog approves too :)

I'm just starting on this project - have the book and stumbled onto your blog looking for the yarn online. You got a great product - looks like I should order the #6 needles and save the 7s for another project - but I wanted to check: Do you knit on the tight side?
Also your neckline looks fine, where others thought it was too wide. Any other suggestions?
Thanks a bunch.

hi there. i am just starting this sweater with the same yarn, can i ask some advice?
(i tried to join the KAL, but apparenlty it's closed)
did you find you had enough yarn?
i ordered 1.5 extra balls, but i think i'm going to run out of yarn.
how did the yardage do for you??
any modifications or changes you'd make??
it looks just beautiful!!!

Hi there, I was wondering if you could pass on what you learned about attaching the sleeves? It seems the more I read the instructions, the more I don't understand! Thanks in advance.
