Goodbye Honeymoon

Before I bid adieu to my honeymoon cami, I took a picture of it with the recipient. My niece leaves for Portland, OR later today. It's such a nice and easy knit. I may have to make another one for me.

Girls just wanna have fun ...

Looks like my daughter enjoyed playing with the digital camera. She took some pictures of her cousin featuring the Fiesta Tea Cup as an accessory.

Squeezing in a few more tanks

I started knitting Tivoli last night. I picked up some Microspun in Mango using my Michael's gift card. My niece is secretly hoping that my gauge will be off. I may have to knit her one, too.

Depending on how quickly this one goes, I may want to attempt knitting Pia (Rowan 35) before I go back to my Sitcom Chic sleeves.

More yarn

Look what arrived in the mail today. Wait! I just ordered this on Monday. Can it be?!?!

It'll be for the Hourglass Sweater from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts. It looks so nice and soft. I'll have to start swatching soon. I still need to buy matching 12" circular needles for the sleeves.

Just posting some pictures of completed projects. I'll sort them out later.

Experimenting with stripes ...

My daughter is so glad I finished it. Hooray!

Sitcom Chic ripping commences tonight

Last night I transferred the sleeve onto the Addi Circulars and was knitting a lot faster. Somehow it just did not look right. So I stopped and set it aside before I knit further.

Today I posted a question at the KR forum. Based on the responses, it looks like I will need to rip the sleeve because I got confused with the instructions. Sigh! Oh well. I guess it's better to start over than to have a wonky looking sleeve.

Adding to my stash

It took me two weeks to decide what color I wanted for my next project. I was on the fence between Lettuce(green) and Orange. I asked hubby, daughter and niece and they all answered 'orange' without even looking at the Knit Picks site. The kicker was when hubby said, "Why don't you get both?" So off I went and ordered Orange Andean Silk for the Hourglass sweater. If it turns out great, then I'll order the Lettuce for another one.

By the way, I also signed up for the Hourglass knit-a-long. What else am I missing? I'm pretty sure I have the needles. I'll just need to make sure they're not being used by one of my current WIPs.

Sitcom Chic progress report

I finished the body of the cardigan (about 13" long). I went ahead and started the first sleeve.

It took me 3 cast-ons to start the sleeve. I hope I'm reading the instructions correctly. It seems that the marker will be shifting every INC row. I wish I had small enough circulars. Working on DPNs is tough. How do you prevent ladders? I guess I'll just have to keep sliding 1 st over so the ladder is not as visible.

Honeymoon Cami update

Honeymoon Cami
Pattern: Knitty Spring '04
Yarn: LB Microspun in White using Addi US 6
Knitted: June 4 - 19, 2005

I had my niece try on the Honeymoon Cami - it fits her perfectly. This is more incentive for me to finish it so I can gift it to her. I guess I'll have to make another one for me in the future.

July WIPs and UFO

I made gauge with Cotton-Ease for Sitcom Chic. Mine will be in red. I cast-on last night and did the ribbing and about 4 rows of St.

WIPs:
1. Finish daughter's orange tank.

UFOs:
1. I still need to sew a button on my daughter's bag to get this off my UFO list. (Knitted in Mar 2005)
2. Saucer from IK Fiesta Tea Set (Started knitting on Apr 2005)
3. Darn in the threads on Honeymoon Cami. (Knitted June 2005)

I still have to prioritize the future projects.
